High Speed 1 is the railway between St Pancras in London and the Channel Tunnel and connects with the international high speed routes between London and Paris, and London and Brussels. High speed domestic trains also use the railway, providing a much improved commuter service between London and Kent. The railway is also capable of carrying freight traffic. What we do
HS1 Ltd holds the concession from government to operate, manage and maintain the high-speed railway infrastructure until December 2040. The use of the high-speed route by both international and domestic traffic, has created technical boundaries, interfaces and interdependencies to manage and this is achieved through contractual relationships with a large number of stakeholders, including regulators, customers, operators, suppliers and other entities.
